Kengo Kuma + Ma,YU

chokkura Kengo Kuma + Ma,YU

Oooooh..puurty! Renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma has teamed up with Mayumi Ohmori of Ma,YU, a product and jewelry design unit, to design a line of jewelry for Vendome Aoyama. Interestingly, the pieces will derive their inspiration from previously completed architecture projects by Kuma himself. I guess it’s sort of like what Tiffany did with Frank Gehry.

I’m dying to see what some of the other pieces look like but the online shop seems to be suffering from technical difficulties.

Oh, very cool. I love the concept. However, it’s the raw cement that really draws me. Do you think I could have a ring made out of cement?

hmmm, interesting thought. I bet you could and I bet it would make for some really interesting texture!
