Check out this new capsule hotel that just opened last December. 9h is located in Kyoto, ready to service the burnt-out businessman or the broke backpacker 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. I love the concept and the simple pictograms. Everything looks so futuristic!
Monocle has your video of, what is, a joint collaboration between Fumie Shibata (amenities), Masaaki Hiromura (graphic design) and Takaaki Nakamura (interior design).

Hi Johnny,
I’d like to thank you for recommending “Open Culture.” It’s beome one of my favorites, along with yours.
I have a request, how about a little more Japanese ceramics.

Hi Johnny S.,
I do say funny things. Thank you.
One thing I don’t like is a hotel room that’s like a sweater and I feel like I’m wearing it.

I have read about this project on other blogs as well. My opinion is that such an invention will prove to be very useful for people that haev a busy schedule and have to travel a lot.

Is this place for real? Looks like that reservation they had in that Tom Cruise movie, The Island. I wonder how many cheap hotel reservations have already been made and how many of those people are happy with the accommodation.
