These geometric blocks, with their asymmetrical lines and uneven shapes, appear to be some kind of art object. But pick one up and you’ll quickly see that they’re not. In fact, they’re one of the most common desk objects: paper memo pads.
Starting with regular, square-shaped blocks of paper, each are hand-carved by artisans who take great care in shaping the multi-faceted edges. The resulting polygons are as precise as a machine, but not a single one is the same. They’re the brainchild of Kenji Fujii of Taki Products, and they’re available for sale at minne (a Japanese equivalent of Etsy).
